The only wild parrot in the Cayman Islands.\u00a0 Its most prominent features include a white forehead, pale bill, pink cheeks, and additional, variable patches of pink that often extend to the lower throat.<\/p>

Cf. \u201cBahama\u201d<\/a> and \u201cCuban\u201d<\/a> Parrots.<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0 The \u201cCuban\u201d, \u201cBahama\u201d, and \u201cCayman\u201d Parrots are traditionally classified as forms of a single species, which may be appropriate, but their taxonomic status is not definitively settled.\u00a0 Although they do not occur together naturally, vagrancy or transport of captive individuals could take them out of their expected ranges and cause confusion.\u00a0 \u201cCuban\u201d and \u201cBahama\u201d both differ from \u201cCayman\u201d in having far more extensive white on the head and more extensive and contiguous pink on the face, throat, and chest.\u00a0 \u201cCuban\u201d and \u201cBahama\u201d differ from one another mainly in the coloration of the belly: green on \u201cBahama\u201d versus maroon on many \u201cCubans\u201d.\u00a0 As on \u201cCuban\u201d, the \u201cCayman Parrot\u201d often shows extensive maroon on the belly.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
